It's a Beautiful Day!

Yesterday I took my third graders on a field trip to a local nature center. It was the coldest day in 13 years here in South Florida, so we all bundled up.

Part of the trip involves walking along the beach for about a mile looking for "treasures." They often find exotic seeds from the Amazon that have drifted in the Gulf Stream and landed here.

We do this trip every February, but this one will stand out. It was such a beautiful day! (Apologises to those of you who will be singing U2 for the rest of the day...) I LOVE when the sky is so blue!

The weather was too cold for swimming (and all the reports on the news lately have been about shark migration so I wouldn't chance that now anyway) but I was really wishing I was there with the Irishman and a good book and not 35 screaming children.

Can you guess what I plan to do this weekend? Happy Friday!

It looks so warm and inviting. I'm not sure it would be the same with all those kids tagging along.
