Swimming with GGB

We are in week two of our staycation. We have had a great time so far! We'd planned to go bowling this afternoon, but the weather was so nice that we opted for the pool instead.

My grandmother heard that Caitlin was swimming without her floaties these days and mentioned that she'd love to come along.

Sean was thrilled when he saw 'B' come in the pool.

Caitlin was happy to have someone else to watch her new swimming skills.

I didn't get any good action shots of Caits in action. She never stops moving!

We had a blast! It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon!

Ducks

When we were at Disney, the kids were always on the look out for ducks. Not just Donald and Daisy, but these guys as well.

What you can't see in this picture is the fact that the kids were over tired.

There *might* have been a near miss as the big one slipped through a crack in the fence and tried to chase the ducks. Someone *might* have had an accident only to discover that Mommy forgot to pack extra panties and the extra pair of shorts were wet from the rain. There *might* have been two crocs (one pink, one black) *accidentally* dropped into the fenced off grassy area before we caught onto the little game.  Okay it *might* have happened more than once.

We found the ducks, but it wasn't feeling like the happiest place on earth for Mommy and Daddy.

Thankfully we followed up the ducks with this:

Bliss!

Ohana Breakfast

After we checked out of the hotel we headed over to the Polynesian Resort for breakfast at Ohana. This is one of our favorite places to go!

After Stitch stopped by the table they started the little parade around the restaurant. He held Caitlin's hand all the way around. You can't tell from this picture, but she loved it!

My kids love the characters, but they also love bacon and eggs. Yum!

Aloha, Mickey!

Swimming with Nemo

We walked past the Nemo pool area on the first day and the kids wanted in. After a wet day Thursday, Friday was HOT. We headed back to the hotel to cool off in the pool/splash pad.

Caitlin loved the zero entry pool. She wouldn't let me take off her floaties there, but she has since gotten brave enough to swim without wearing her puddle jumpers.

The last day before we checked out of the hotel, Daddy and Sean  went to check out the non-water playground.

The resort was awesome!

Cars

There were over 500 pictures from our Disney trip. Even though it was over a month ago now, I have a number of Disney posts left!

My dad booked us into a family suite at the Art of Animation resort. We were in the Cars section. My kids haven't really watched Cars (yet) but they still loved running around the decorations. We've stayed at Disney resorts before, but the grounds of this one was impressive even by Disney standards!

Honey I Shrunk the Kids Fun

While at Hollywood Studios, my dad and Sandra got tickets for us to try the Star Wars ride. The kids played on the playground while we on the ride.

They had a blast!

The Characters: Part Three

On our second day, we started at Hollywood Studios. The Irishman was excited that we were there for Star Wars weekend. Caitlin was not impressed. She hid in the stroller so that the Star Wars wouldn't "get her."

All was forgotten by the time we reached the Disney Junior show. They updated the show from the last time we were there. Caitlin and Sean loved it. Doc, Sophia, Mickey, and Jake are family favorites, so they loved seeing them on stage.

After the show we lined up to see the characters. Last time Caitlin wasn't so sure about Handy Manny. This time they were old pals.

What surprised me most was how both kids reacted to Jake. They both ran up for hugs.

Meeting Jake (from Jake and the Neverland Pirates for those of you not on a first name basis with the Disney Junior line up) was a highlight of the trip. I didn't see that coming!

The Characters: Part Two

We had lunch reservations in Epcot, so we braved the rain and headed that way. We knew we wanted to stop at the Character Spot to see more "friends," but we lucked out and ran into Goofy at the entrance.

They loved it all!

The Characters: Part One

Summer camp is over, so I am finally getting around to our Disney pictures. I tried a new photo editing program and then went back to my old favorite. Most of these pictures are from my dad's camera.

As with our last visit, Caitlin's favorite part of Disney was the characters. Daisy has remained #1 in her book. We found her back by the new and improved Dumbo right in a circus themed tent. Our first day was in the middle of a tropical storm. A nice dry spot to see some of the kids' favorite friends was a great break from the rain!

Most of the time Sean kept his spot in my arms. He didn't mind seeing the characters, but he wasn't ready to walk up to them on his own. Goofy was one of the few exceptions. Not sure what is was about the giant dog that Sean found to be less threatening...

Now that my summer vacation has started and I have uploaded all the pictures I should be blogging a little more regularly. = )
