A Pink Preview

Nana and I took the kids to Flamingo Gardens earlier this week. We took a lot of photos, but I am too tired to go through them tonight. Here is a pink preview for you…

There are more to come, but I wanted to give a sneak peak for the grandparents!

Hump Day Dump

I’m linking up with Fresh Mommy today for the Hump Day Dump. These are photos (and video) we took on our phones this week.

Up first is a photo of Sean in my new Ergo carrier. He spent the whole time looking up at me. I tried to get a picture of his big blue eyes staring at me but he looked away. You get the idea though!

The Irishman and Caitlin have been playing with the ball after dinner. The other night he got a great video of her showing off her dribbling skills. It looks like we have a soccer player on our hands!

Caitlin LOVES to push the stroller. I snapped these pictures before Mass on Sunday.

Mass we headed to the Pancake House. Caitlin played in the butter before digging into her pig in (pancake) blankets.

This video is not going to be interesting to most people, but I know the family will want to see it. As a baby, Caitlin spent most of the time in her swing sleeping. Sean stares at the mobile while he smiles and makes happy little noises. It is lovely! Here is a minute or so video of smiling Sean in action.

On Monday Nana and I took Caitlin and Sean to see Elmo live on stage. We were worried that she was still a little young for it, but she LOVED it! She was worn out and took a nap on the way home.

It was a lovely week!

Caitlin’s “Friends”

I’ve posted before about Caitlin’s friends. Her crib is so full of stuffed animals that there is almost no room left for her. She LOVES it though. As soon as we put her in at night she starts to arrange them.

IMG_5629

Lately Caitlin has insisted on bringing ALL her stuffed animals downstairs with her in the morning.

IMG_5638

She arranges them on the couch and will tell each one where to “sit” – though she is much better at making an ‘sh’ sound than the ‘s’ sound…oops!

IMG_5636

She recently added a new “friend” to the mix.

* The boots were a Christmas present from some friends in Ireland. (Thank you Rachel & Rob!) I was cleaning up the kids' closet when I found them the other day and realized they are now the right size for a certain little girl. Caitlin LOVED them! She stomped around in them all morning.

** The photos came about because we were on our way out the door for church when it started to pour buckets rain. We decided to go to a later Mass so we had some time…the wrinkled sheet was my ideas, but the stuffed animals were her idea!

Cait-in-the-Box

One of Caitlin’s new favorite games involves sitting in the box and piling ALL of the blocks on top of herself. She then gets up, dumps the box over, and repeats the process. Silly girl!

Side note: I’m over the paci. Before Sean she only used it in the car and at Mass. Now she also takes it when she finds one or when she gets upset. Or when she asks for it. Or just because she can. Speaking of asking…we have always used multiple names for the darn thing. I call it a pacifier or a paci. The Irishman calls it a Dummy or a Dodo (Long o sound like dough dough). Caitlin has decided it is a dodo. She asks for a dodo when she gets in trouble/upset and she looks for Sean’s dodo when he is crying. That might be my least favorite name for the thing. My mom pointed out it though that is slightly better to point to Sean and say, “Dodo?” than to point to him shouting, “Dummy!”

Another note: Caitlin is getting picky about her PJs. Most nights she will only wear these Elmo PJs. We can sometimes talk her into Minnie Mouse. The problem is she is outgrowing them (she is already into 3T!)  and I cannot find short sleeve replacements. We are FAR from long sleeves here in South Florida. Oops. It looks like she may be squeezing into them until the spring!

Cookie!

I recently found a pair of slippers at the consignment shop that I knew Caitlin would LOVE. The Irishman and I were going to save them for her birthday, but in the end we couldn’t wait. After her bath that night she came downstairs and found a surprise waiting for her with her usual crackers and milk.

Then she and Daddy decided to feed Cookie some crackers.

Time for bed! Good night Caitlin!

I’m not sure we’d ever get Caitlin to go to bed if she knew about all the fun to be had once she says, “Good night!”

He has a *little* bit of growing room before he can steal them from his sister!

Side note: The last photo of Sean in an Elmo onesie was the newborn sized outfit. We know how much his sister loves seeing him wear it so we also bought the larger size!

Singing in the Rain

Saturday morning the Irishman set out to work on our patio. As part of my birthday present my grandmother and I went shopping to replace the plants that hadn’t survived the hot, dry Florida summer. Before the plants could go in though there were weeds that had filled in once my old plants were dead and the rainy season started. It was a big job. I’ll have to post pictures of the finished product – Morgan and my grandmother did an amazing job!

Well as soon as the Irishman decided he wanted to work on the patio Saturday it started to rain. It was an odd storm in that a) it was before noon and it rarely rains here in the morning during this time of the year & b) there was no thunder or lightening. It started as just a sprinkle, so my husband decided he would work outside anyway.

He forgot that a certain almost-two-year-old LOVES her daddy and wants to do everything that he does…even if it is raining!

By this point the rain picked up and they were both SOAKED. The Irishman was ready to come in and dry off, but after looking at that smile he stayed outside to play. It looks cold, but this is south Florida so don’t let the jackets fool you!

IMG_5441

I’ve been meaning to pick up a pair of rain boots for Caitlin but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. She didn’t seem to mind!

Most of these pictures were taken through the window,

while Sean and I stayed dry and watched from inside the house!
