The Yuckies

Last night the Irishman and I went to bed early. At 10pm, we woke to hear Caitlin crying. I almost hate to put it in print, but this has never happened before. Ever. She had a very slight fever when she went to bed so I thought there was a chance I could be up with her for a while. I decided to go to the bathroom before I got up with her, and by the time I'd washed my hands, she'd self-settled herself back to sleep.

We heard her cough and cry a few times throughout the night, but never actually enough to wake herself up. The Irishman and I both got up in the morning and got ready for work, with strong suspicions that one of us would not be making it to work.

Her fever was 101 degrees when she got up. Morgan stayed home with her and I met them at the pediatrician's office during my planning period. The doctor could find nothing wrong with her other than a little cold. She spent the day with Daddy resting.

The Irishman ran some errands when I got home from work and bought her the little Elmo toy. Caitlin LOVES it. I think seeing her with it has given him as much joy!

Her other favorite thing to play with today was my "I Voted" sticker. She claimed it for her own as soon as I walked in the door. Do you think there could be politics in her future?

It looks like tomorrow will be my turn to play nurse. Her temperature is still at about 101. We're about ready to vote this cold out of office...

Sorry she got sick! Hopefully she's on the mend by now. It was nice to see you the other day. We have to get the kids together soon for a play date. :)

My little one also had a fever yeserday and I thought I would be up with her at night too, but nope, beside the occasional crying out she slept right through (as usual). Poor little sausage. Thankfully her fever is gone today.
