Getting our Green On
It may still be a few weeks away,
but our family is getting our green on!
~~~~~~~~
I am so thankful that our pedestrians’ office has weekend hours. Sean was really congested Saturday night, so we stopped by Sunday morning after Mass. It turns out he has an ear infection. We will be heading back to the specialist again sooner than we’d hoped, and he’s back to sleeping in our room with the humidifier again. Sigh. Thankfully our precious little boy is doing quite well considering he is teething and has an ear infection! He is such an easy-going kid!
Family Fun Day
I’m up to my eyeballs in alligators right now, but I wanted to share some photos from Family Fun Day last weekend. There was food, activities for the kids, a mascot, and more!
Caitlin’s first face painting – she picked a blue star.
Fun times!
Smiles for Daddy
I was running errands last weekend when I got these pictures sent to me on my phone.
I’d say it looks like Daddy did a nice job with two on his own…and taking pictures!
Mardi Gras 2012
No one throws a Mardi Gras party like GGB!
I am fairly sure she had even more decorations out this year than she did last year! These signs are authentic. We got to listen to the stories of how they came to acquire them.
Even the baby gets decorated if he sits still too long!
Caitlin loved the beads with the ‘mingoes on them!
Caitlin with Aiden
This was Sean’s second purple/green/gold outfit of the day.I somehow missed a picture of the first one!
All the fun decorations and dress up is a two year old girl’s dream come true!
I love that they seem to be making the same face in this one…
and then turned to look the same way in the next one!
Happy Mardi Gras!
(Thanks GGB! We had a blast!)
Perfect Presidens Day
I'll start with the disclaimer. It is just after midnight and I am typing one handed while nursing Sean. I both love and hate the dream feed at the same time. I am tired, but I know I'll miss these moments! Anyway, please excuse any crazy auto correct errors.
The Irishman and I had been looking forward to today for a long time. (even though it is technically Tuesday I am referring to Monday because I haven't yet gone to sleep!) We were both off for Presidents Day, but the day care was open so we went on a date. Morgan dropped them off this morning while I put on some music and tackled some chores. He came home with McDonalds. The credit card machine was down and he didn't have cash with him, so they didn't charge for the oatmeal and yogurt parfaits.
It has been quite a while since we went to the movies. We were less than impressed with the selection right now, but Morgan agreed to see One for the Money. I love those books. It wasn't the best movie I've ever seen, but it was light and fun. I really enjoyed it! From there we went for our favorite lunch specials at Duffy's. Yummy!
We picked the kids up from school and headed to the beach for a first attempt at St. Patrick's Day pictures. Caitlin announced, "I love the beach!" when we told her where we were going.
I've updated the blod header. This picture was taken by a stranger we stopped on the beach. I could easily have spent all night playing with these pictures! Instead I was a good girl and I did lesson plans and ironed.
It was a spectacular day!
Enjoying the Weather
This time of year is my favorite for Florida weather. The other day we spent some time outside just enjoying the 'cooler' temps.
Caitlin pedaled,
while Sean reclined.
There were plenty of breaks to pick flowers from our neighbors bushes. Caitlin has her eye on the banana tree around the corner.
Biking requires focus. This is her serious thinking face.
Pedal. Pedal. Pedal.
Sean loves the weather, too!
Valentine’s to Make You Go VROOM!
I found an “I ‘Wheelie like you” Valentine printable a while back and knew I wanted to make the idea my own.
I prefer my Valentine’s to use the kids pictures, so I created those first. I used their Valentine pictures to create bag topper using Picasa. It is just a collage picture pile on a white background. I added the border and the text in Picnik, I love my free photo editing programs.
I had a coupon for 100 free prints from Costco, so we printed them as 4x6 photos. We bought toy cars from a dollar store.
I added a car to a sandwhich bag, folded it over, and stapled the bag topper into place.
We made 18 for Caitlin’s class,
and 8 for Sean and his buddies in the infant room.
I was thrilled with how they came out!
I also found these Cars lunch bags at the dollar store. Caitlin loves to help me cook, so we made cookies. She rolled them in the sprinkles.
We delivered bags of cookies to teachers, co-workers, and the kids’ great-grandparents.
I love projects like this! I have a board on Pinterest ready to collect inspiration for next year!
