Tired

It has been a long, hard week around our house.

We feel like we are working harder and harder and don't have much to show for it.

We are tired.

It was yet another week without a dishwasher. (It won't be delivered until mid-October.) And if one more unexpected expense comes up...medical bills from an emergency room visit last month, random medical bill for services not rendered, appliances that die at a young age, and a home warranty company that should have covered said appliance death but seems to have gone out of business taking our money with them. More phone calls we don't have time to make. Parent conferences, papers to grade, floors to clean, dishes to wash by hand...

TGIF!

Here's to a relaxing weekend!

More Strolling, Still No Sushi

(If you missed the sushi reference, you can read about it here.)

The Irishman had our things gathered by the time Caitlin and I got home on Friday. We do not travel light. We had the stroller, baby carrier, diaper bag, picnic blanket, and her dinner with us. We walked around until we found a free bench perfect spot for dinner.

Caitlin enjoyed her meal with a view and then decided to test our nerves with this move. She has not taken any steps yet, but she has gotten this standing thing down pat. She's getting brave!

The person we randomly stopped for the family photo shoot was quite nice. It was dusk so we had to play with the camera settings...his idea not ours. This is attempt #6.

We walked until the baby and the sun in the sky were both ready to call it a night.

We took a picture from this same spot about 14 months ago.

Things certainly have changed since then,

and I am loving every moment of it all!

Say Cheese!

While we were sitting at GGB's table on Sunday enjoying a special birthday dessert, we noticed that Caitlin was helping herself...

to crackers and cheese dip!

(Notice the Irishman comes to get her and I run over to take a picture of it...)

She looks a bit concerned about the lack of cheese in the bowl, doesn't she?

One of my students' vocabulary words this week is content so I used this story as an example.

Caitlin was quite content when she found the bowl of cheese dip.
Her father and I were not content to let her eat a handful of cheese dip.

I think they got it, although I am sure that at least one test I grade this weekend will say that content means a bowl of cheese dip...

Back to School

I have a lot of pictures I haven't posted yet...I guess that means we've been busy!

These are from open house almost two weeks ago. I picked up Caitlin from her "school" and brought her back to my classroom so that the Irishman could pick her up from there.

I have lots of fun things in my room for her to get into...I love that this frog is bigger than she is right now!

An apple a day...

sends Caitlin on her way!

Sushi-less Stroll

Friday night the Irishman suggested we go to a local Japanese garden for their "Sushi Stroll."

I was a bit surprised because we are not sushi eaters. A friend had suggested it to him though and it was a good price, so we packed up Caitlin's (non-sushi) dinner and headed that way.

I usually prefer to be in my PJs within about 5 minutes of walking in the door on a Friday night, but I am glad that we went for a "sushi-less stroll."

It was a lovely night...

with two of my favorite people!

Jogging in Style

We're going to do what?!?!?

Let's hydrate first.

I make this look good!

The Irishman backed up our photos this week and told me that there are 7,955 pictures in the "Caitlin" folder. I guess that happens we you document every little jog...
