Summer Love

I'd planned to go into school today. (Okay, so it is after midnight so that should really say yesterday, but we'll just forget the technicalities for now!) I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here or not, but I am starting a new adventure at work this year. After a decade in third grade, I am teaching technology/art next year for K-5. I am not going to have my own class, but instead I will have each kindergarten through fifth grade class every three days for a class period.

I am really excited about the change. I spent most of June moving out of my old classroom of 9 years. I am transforming the old art room into a STEAM lab. (Think STEM plus the arts.) It is getting there, but there is a lot to do! I am having nightmares about starting the year without the furniture or technology we've ordered arriving.

However, today was also the last day of summer vacation. I may regret it next week when I am staying late to put things away, but I decided to spend the day with my kids instead. We skipped Caitlin's last gymnastics class and we headed to the children's art museum. We met my friend Shannon and her kids there. The kids love this place! On the way out, we spent some time playing on the outdoor art.

I really love these pictures. They warm my heart!

I love these kids!

Enjoy your weekend!
