My two have been actually playing together more and more these days. It warms my heart! Sean loves to try anything that Caitlin does.
When Caitlin was sick this week Sean wanted to cuddle with his sister.
When Caitlin and I got to his room at school yesterday he shouted, “Sister!”
Love!

Basketball
My school has a partnership with the local woman’s basketball team. As part of star reader night they were offering discount tickets. At the last minute I decided to being Caitlin along with me.
I was a little nervous. On the way there it became clear that she interpreted “Going to a basketball game with Mommy” to mean “Playing basketball.” I told her I didn’t think we could play but she made me promise we’d ask when we got there. I let one of my co-workers be the bad guy to say we couldn’t play.
Thankfully the owl served as a distraction.
She found it too noisy at first, but she got used to it. Of course the popcorn helped.
It was a fun night for the two of us!
She was exhausted when we got home. She went to bed in her own bed. I was up late washing our sheets and got upstairs just after midnight to put the fresh sheets on the bed and found this.
Such a sweet girl!

The Big Game
The Irishman and I do not typically watch TV when the kids are home. We have tried, but it is not worth our efforts. We really wanted to watch the Super Bowl though, so we came up with a plan. We told the kids all about it.
We planned a special meal and we made a BIG deal about eating in front of the TV at the special little table. The catch was we had to watch the game to do it.
We started with appetizers – cheese dip and breadsticks. Then we moved onto mini burgers. The family favorite did not disappoint!
I took the kids upstairs towards the end of the first quarter for bath time. We put on PJs and went back downstairs to watch the game.
A lot of people criticized the half time show. I looked over half way through and noticed that both of our darlings were sound asleep.
Any show with that result is a winner in my book!

Fun at the Fair
Last month we took advantage of a nice day and headed to the fair. Caitlin had a vague recollection of the year before – she knew it was about animals. It won’t be much longer before the fair is all about rides and food and prizes. For now though, we admired animals from elephants to hatching chicks!
We did the usual exhibits. This year we also found the corn to play in.
The big hit was the petting area. We bought two cups of carrots and the kids went to town feeding any creature who would take it from them!
Sean was so tickled by the whole thing. He would shriek and flap his arms in delight. The animals were less than thrilled by his reaction, but they were good sports!
This little goat was standing on another so he could reach the goodies. He and Caitlin got along quite well!
The Irishman and I bought corn to share, but it was taken from us by our pint-sized companions. We ended up buying them one each!
It was a lovely day out. Caitlin is already asking to go back next year!

Family Fun Day
They were all smiles!
Thank you, Miss Ruth, for our awesome outfits!
Thank you Grandpa Eric & Sandra for the 'cowboy' hats. I am embarrassed to say that I grew up in Texas and my kids think these are cowboy hats! I guess I have some teaching to do!
Our big helper
Fist bumping Big LU
Face paint and an “ice cream”
It was a great day!

New Blog Header
I have tons of pictures left to post, but I am too tired! I bought some clip art last night during TpT's big sale. I'm loving these shamrocks! The font in the middle is one I created myself on the iPad. I'm LOVING iFont.
I'll share pictures soon. I just wanted to get the Christmas blog header packed away! ; )

Master Sean
The Irishman usually picks up Sean on days that Caitlin has gymnastics class. He had to work late this week, so Sean came with us. The gym also hosts birthday parties, so they have a throne for the birthday girl/boy.
Sean decided it was the perfect place to eat his snack!
Just call him Master Sean!
Love that boy!
